Tall octavo. 248 [1] pp. Crown gently bumped, margins lightly toned, about half of the lower gutter with glue (dried) having impregnated the rear pastedown, very good or better in a modestly worn, very good or better dust jacket with a nick on the topedge of the ower panel. Inscribed by McBain (pseudonym of Evan Hunter) to his son on the half-title: "To Ted- with much love, Dad (aka Ed McBain).
