New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1963. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Another fine contribution to the American Trails Series, edited splendidly by A.B. Guthrie, and a particularly lovely copy of Carter's best-known work. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy bound in bright-red cloth, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine, three publisher's devices to front color in steel, copper and gilt. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, price-clipped. Decorated endpapers, and then with a full, two-page map covering New Spain (Mexico) to Texas. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Frontis matter + 408 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
