New York: M.J. Ivers & Co, 1889. Paperback. Fair. 462, [16] p.; 18 cm. Paperback with covers printed in dark blue and light blue. No copyright date but front cover dated 1892. This is no. 122 in the publisher's American Series. Back cover contains an illustrated advertisement for Walter Baker & Co.'s breakfast cocoa. Inside back cover contains the contents of Standard Comic Recitations by Best Authors, no. 7. Publisher's advertisements on 14 unpaginated pages following text. Former owner's name at head of front cover, title page, and first page of text: Schall. The second novel by this English writer, first published in 1882; its sequel was We Two, published in 1884. In Fair Condition: front and back cover are detached but present; significant loss of paper over spine; cover is soiled; edges are rubbed and chipped; significant loss to the edges of the back cover; pages are clean and tight. A very scarce late 19th-century paperback.
