Octavo; publisher's red cloth in an illustrated dust jacket retaining original price ($4.95); 280pp. Light scuffing along cover edges, light soiling to cloth spine and cover. Interior text is clean and binding is in good condition. Very Good copy in like dust jacket.
Richard P. Powell (1908-1999) served on Admiral Douglas McArthur's staff during WWII before becoming a writer of Inner Sanctum Mysteries (pub.1943-1955). His first solo debut novel "The Philadelphian" (1956) would become a best seller before being adapted into film as " The Young Philadelphians" (1959) starring Paul Newman. His 1959 novel "Pioneer, Go Home! " was turned into the Elvis Presley film "Follow That Dream" (1962).
