Thorpe to ffep. very good William Homan Thorpe's copy of this treatise on the distribution of animals. Prior to the understanding of plate tectonics in the 1960s, zoologists were largely at a loss to explain the global distribution of animals. This book attempts to explain distributions across continents with ancient land bridges connecting the continents. W.H. Thorpe was an influential British zoologist at the University of Cambridge who helped to advance behavioural biology and ecology. 1911
