Large, thick 8vo, pp. x, 758, 32 page catalogue at end, some leaves unopened, original cloth; top of spine snagged, rear joint splitting, front joint slightly split, top edge soiled. Hamilton reprints here articles that appeared, anonymously, in The Edinburgh Review between 1829 and 1839, but the work contains some of his most interesting and entertaining observations.
