Oxford / London: At the Clarendon Press; For J. Cooke, G.G. and J. Robinson, T. Cadell, F. and C. Rivington, 1779, 1794. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket as Issued. 4-Volume Set. Brown half-leather bindings with marbled boards. Cover's corners are white. Red and green slips on each spine, as well as gilt designs and lettering. Five raised bands. Frontispiece in Volume 3. Bookplates ix, 387pp. 404pp. viii, 391pp. vii, 377pp. Volume 2 also contains a 27-page sermon in the back (published in 1775). Boards are rubbed. Spines of volume 1 and 2 have cracking. Head and feet of most spines are chipped. Front and back hinges starting (volume 3's hinges are the better of the 4). Volume 1 and 2 have text blocks that are starting to detach. Writing and underlining scattered throughout set. Good only. Full refund if not satisfied.
