A concise dictionary of the English language with a comprehensive view of English grammar, as well as a list of all cities, boroughs, towns, and villages in England and Wales. Compiled from Samuel Johnson, an English writer who made lasting contributions as a poet, playwright, essayist, moralist, literary critic, sermonist, biographer, editor, and lexicographer. Bound in decorative leather. Externally, sound with rubbing to the extremities. Light loss to the board tips with loss to the head of the spine. A small crack to the rear joint with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Tide marks to the frontispiece and title page. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front and rear endpapers dated 1846. Good
