Tucholsky is best known for his work as a satirist and critic, most of it written as a left-wing journalist in Berlin during the twenties and the years leading up to the Nazis, the fateful Weimar years. The first German edition of this innovative illustrated book was published in 1929. 245 pages ; illustrations ; 26 cm. First English edition, first printing. Red cloth boards, price-clipped dust jacket (now in a removable protective sleeve). Small repaired tears to edges plus a couple of small nicks, some fading to spine, no inscriptions, tight and square binding. Photographs available on request. All books dispatched same or next working day in robust packaging.
