Focus of German climbing attempts in the 1930s, as access to Everest was controlled by the British, this book recounts the Nazi-funded effort of 1934, ultimately disastrous. Text in German, in fraktur type. Hardcover, tan buckram with brown lettering and decoration. Spine tanned, ends frayed; upper corners of boards lightly bumped; rear board warped outward slightly; wrinkling in end sheets near hinges; bookplate inside front cover; paper a bit tanned but not brittle; no jacket. Text clean; 52 pages, 80 pages beautiful gravure photo plates.. First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 7" by 10".
