Wightman and Cramp, 1827. First edition. 8vo. xiii, 322, [6]pp + illustrated title frontispiece. Original publisher's rare grey boards with buff paper spine & spine label. A very good copy with wear to extremities with light slither chipping to spine tips & bottom right foot of spine. Wear to gutter hinges and light chipping to label. Internally clean with neat manuscript name & date [1829] to half title. A very good copy of an uncommon title in first edition in rare original publishers boards. The Desolation of Eyam is a tragic poem describing a Seventeenth century outbreak of plague in the Peak District.
