About This Item

Published by Viking, London; 2013. 8vo. 310pp. First edition, sixth impression. Condition: Fine/Fine

Bound in original black cloth boards with title in gilt to the spine. The binding is square and tight and in excellent condition, with no marks or damage, save a touch of bumping to the spine ends. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or marks, save a couple of small stains to the top edge. The book appears practically as new and unread.

This smart book is housed in its original, first issue, dust jacket. It is vibrant and bright, with no marks or damage to speak of other than a hint of bumping to the top of the spine.

In all, this is a lovely example of this novel by le Carre, which he once described as being more autobiographical than his other works. It is set in 2008 and 2011 and follows an undercover mission undertaken by British and American intelligence forces in Gibraltar to capture and abduct a high-value jihadist arms dealer, and its consequences on two British agents.
