London: Macmillan and Co., 1949. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A collection of short stories by Osbert Sitwell. The first edition of this work. With original unclipped dustwrapper. Death of a God comprises of nineteen stories such as those from his 1940 collection 'Open The Door' as well as 'Staggered Holidays' a never before published work. The title also contains 'A Place of One's Own', a very popular work which became a successful film. Osbert Sitwell was an English writer who devoted his life to art and literature. In original full cloth binding and held in original dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Small amount of rubbing to the extremities. Dustwrapper is generally smart with chipping to the head and tail of spine and extremities. Wrap is somewhat sunned with marks to the rear wrap. Minor chipping to the flyleaves. Closed tear at bottom of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout. Very Good Indeed
