About This Item
New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1929. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good . 8-3/4 x 5-3/4 inches, 124pages. Publisher's salmon boards, cloth spine, color design on front cover. Condition is VERY GOOD, with slight soiling to the front cover. Pevious owner's bookplate on front flyleaf. A very nice, tight copy of this delightfully-illustrated sequel to the cartoonist's Skippy, the cranky child with views on almost everything, based on his syndicated comic-strip character in LIFE. More elaborately presented than one would expect, the book is illustrated with pasted-in plates, and each page is tinted with a green border. Skippy is generally acknowledged to be the inspiration for Charles M. Schulz's Charlie Brown character. humor, stacks
