This book is based upon 27 letters written between 1889 and 1894 by a Canadian doctor William Little to one of McGill University's first female graduates and the first female doctor licensed to practice in Quebec. At the time Little was traveling and practicing medicine in Warracknabeal, a small town in Australia.
