Nashville, TN: Aurora Publishers, Inc, 1977. Hardcover. fair to good/fair. 272 pages. Illus., maps, damp wrinkling inside boards & flyleaves & to some text pages in lower margins (no stains and no pages stuck) DJ scuffed and scratched: edges worn, small tears, larger tear in rear DJ, small piece missing at top of front DJ. Presentation copy signed by the author. Late in World War II and just before the Battle of the Bulge, German Corporals David Kohn and Maximilian Unger were assigned to a secret mission as part of a plan to recapture Antwerp. Captured by the Canadians, the two corporals were returned to the Germans after the war, and the Canadians also supplied the unarmed Germans with guns for their execution. The author explores whether David and Max were sacrificial sheep in the covert dealings of once hostile governments.
