About This Item
Oxford: Basil Blackwell, 1959. 1st ed. . Printed Card. VG+. 13.5 Cm x 19.5 Cm. family connections chart f/p + 101 pp., prev.owner's gilt label verso front cover and 1979 dated to facing half-title (no endpapers issued), very slight wear in a few places to covers but these are generally clean and bright. An extremely useful and succinct and, in some respects, revisionist, overview of the nature of Darwin's achievement and contemporary controversies, including a handy Appendix with a bibliography of editions of William Lawrence's 1819 'Lectures' and works related to the controversy it generated. One the more enduring products of the 'Origins' centennial despite its modest size. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
