About This Item

London & Glasgow: Blackie & Son, 1954. Book. Illus. by Victor J. Bertoglio. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. No date (1954). The Sea Scouts of the Seagull Patrol assist someone whose boat is in danger, and out of gratitude he promises them a new and better boat, which they will have to sail off to collect. But "some queer things happen before that cruise starts," among them mysterious intruders and an assault by an unknown assailant. Red cloth w/bright silver lettering to front cover/spine, 251 pages, four illustrations. Mild wear to corners/spine ends, a bit cocked, lightly dusted/faintly soiled edges, vertical line down right edge of front cover (it's not a scratch, but rather seems to be a slightly pulled thread in the cloth), in moderately edgeworn dust jacket w/light chipping to corners/spine ends, small triangular scrape to spine, 1/2" tear to top of rear panel, smudging to rear panel. A pretty nice copy, with no names, no inscriptions, no dates, no previous owner's marks. Jacket now in protective mylar sleeve, which spruces it up nicely..
