About This Item
A crisp striking copy of a book illustrated by Norman Rockwell. There are four full page color illustrations in the inimitable Rockwell Americana style. This was one of the times Rockwell was NOT credited on the title page for his illustrations and also one of the earliest paid illustrating jobs the young Rockwell received.
Possibly, the reason Rockwell wasn't credited is because the front cover illustration was by a different, more well-known artist (at the time)
Frank X. Leyendecker.
There is the bookplate of a previous owner, a young boy, opposite the half-title page.

About Blue Sky Books
Blue Sky Books has been in business 40 years. Once keeper of an open shop, former ABAA member and exhibitor at book fairs,,we conceded to the forces of the marketplace and began online sales in 1995.A specialist in detective fiction, especially Victorian and Edwardian, we live in hope that persons of similar taste still exist. The same can now be said of the Golden Age writers, whom we offer when they come to hand.We always try to provide professional service but are human. We have approximately 10,000 transactions on Ebay and probably less than 5 that were considered unsatisfactory by our customers. We have usually less than 100 offerings on Amazon at any given time and I suppose we have a satisfactory rating there since we continue to get orders.Peace.
