Iowa City, Iowa: State Historical Society of Iowa, 1974. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine. Volume itself has red cloth covers with sharp gilt lettering on the spine and front cover and a gilt emblem of the Seal of the State Historical Society of Iowa. 301 pages, a preface, sixteen chapters, notes and an index. Book is clean, fresh, tight and bright. Just a slight touch of wear from sitting on the bookshelf at the base of the spine and at some corners. The subject of the work was twice elected governor of the state of Iowa and, in addition held many other political appointments and was involved in some additional elections. Volume itself is protected in a archival quality Brodart clear cover that is easily removeable , if desired. A quite nice copy, available for immediate sale, carefully packed in a sturdy box!
