About This Item
New York: Thomas R. Knox & Co, 1885. Decorative Cloth. Very Good +. A very solid copy of the 1885 1st edition of James McQuade's account of the voyage of the schooner yacht Montauk to Bermuda, the West Indies and Florida. Tight and VG+ in its pictorial, chocolate-brown cloth, with bright gilt-titling along the front panel and lightly-rubbed titling to the spine. One very narrow, subtle cut near the spine crown, very light wear to both spine ends. Small, neat former owner names at the first blank endpapers, a touch of foxing at one of the preliminaries, otherwise clean as could be. Thick octavo, all edges gilt. A number of full-page engravings thruout. James McQuade's single-sheet, 4 pg. "Finis" laid-in as well.
