First edition of this very scarce novelty miniature Japanese-American Almanac, illustrated with chromolithography and featuring the days of each month, phases of the moon, and illustrations drawing from Japanese woodblock export artwork of the era. Also issued in hand-coloured and embossed boards, the chromolithograph version was sold originally for .25¢ advertised in Scribner’s Christmas 1886 issue of The Book Buyer, Vol. III, No. 11, Dec., 1886.
