About This Item
Kerosina: Worcester Park, 1987. First edition (& 1st printing). Hardcover. Fix-up novel in which the author has built a framing narrative, about an alternative Europe still under Nazi domination, around two old space adventure novellas (''The Impossible Smile'', from Science Fantasy 1965 as by ''Jael Cracken'', and ''Equator'' from New Worlds, 1958)'': Published the same year in the US as THE YEAR BEFORE YESTERDAY: this Kerosina edition is significantly different from that edition, being revised and expanded, and is the authors preferred text. Illustrated by SMS. LIMITED EDITION: from a total printing of 276 copies signed by the author and slipcased (of which 26 were bound in leather and lettered)), this is one of 250 numbered copies. All 276 copies were slipcased with an additional hardcover book THE MAGIC OF THE PAST (a short story first published in The illustrated London News as ''The Old Evil''). Both books are no 89. ADDITIONALLY SIGNED ON THE LIMITATION PAGE BY THE ARTIST SMS. Fine copy in a fine dustjacket and slipcase (as new) with publicity flyer laid in.
