The first edition of this uncommon work telling the story of a bank in the early twentieth century with illustrations. First edition of Counter Defensive Being the Story of A Bank in Battle by John Wadsworth in the original quarter calf binding and cloth boards. The story of a great bank in England during the Second World War which faced mass destruction during the Blitz. Illustrated by twenty eight plates, four of which are in colour. Collated, complete. Presented to George L. Webster by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Directors of the Midland Bank Limited. In the original quarter calf binding and cloth boards. Externally, smart. There is some slight rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. There is some bumping to the extremities and light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good
