Boston: Little, Brown & Co, 1949. Cloth. Collectible Good/fair. Nicol, Phoebe. Octavo, 322 pages. Later 1949 printing (originally published in 1947). Gray cloth illustrated boards, with writing on front and spine. Signed by author: "Mrs. Gilbert with all fond wishes from Dione Lucas, June 1949." Pages lightly tanned with some stains from newspaper article inserts. No writing or marks noted. Dust jacket encased in a clear, protective cover. A good usable copy. From the jacket front: "The finest French recipes from the internationally famous Cordon Bleu restaurants and schools, adapted for American home cooking." Dione Lucas (1909 - 971) was an English chef, and the first female graduate of Le Cordon Bleu. Lucas was fundamental in establishing an extension of the famous Paris culinary school in London in the 1930s.
