(USA) No markings, there are a couple of brown cooking spots (the largest about the size of a quarter coin), to the first ten leaves diminishing in size until it disappears on page 10, some light rubbing to cover edges and corner tips, some discolorations to the edge of frotn cover and edge of spine, tiny hole to the spine edge near the foot of spine, Fair copy; no dust jacket. 16.5 x 12cm, dark red cloth with illustration of young girl holding a try of cookies, illustrated end papers, 103pp, where pages 97 to 103 are lined for recipes. There are 12 chapters starting each starting with a story involving Alice (the young girl) and her mother, followed by a recipe which is explained in detailed within the story. Chapter II is Corn Bread and Chapter XII is Sponge cake. Judson was an author who wrote over 70 books for children before she died in 1960. (1.33 JM HOQ 100/2. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
