About This Item

London: Secker & Warburg, 1962. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. An attractive reprint copy of the Italian writer's third and best-known novel, in the translation by Beryl de Zoete first published in 1930. Here issued as the initial volume in Secker & Warburg's uniform edition of Svevo's works, with a new introductory "Note on Svevo" by Edouard Roditi. Octavo (5.5 x 8 in.); 448pp.; blue textured paper boards, silver spine titles, in dust jacket. Mild bumping to spine ends and top corners, former owner's name and purchase details inked on front free endpaper. Else fine in a near fine jacket, price-clipped, with a roughly 1/3 x 1/2" chip out at the base of spine. Not to be confused with the more common "Further Confessions of Zeno," also issued as part of the same series.
