I have a few rare books of Freemasonry, but this is undoubtedly one of the hardest-to-find printings I have offered. I have searched the web for another valid 1869 and found zero, and certainly nothing, with this beautiful gold stamped cover. Within its pages, you will find a collection of writings on Masonic history, The Degrees of Masonry, passages on The Knights Templars, the mysterious ark of the covenant, and knowledge that dates back centuries. This 1869 1st edition holds significant historical value and represents an important milestone in the study of this secretive and ancient fraternity. This is not only a scarce and beautiful book but a historically important one, especially considering no other 1869's are currently offered. They don't make them this good anymore, and they never will. I would snag this one before someone else does...

"We suppose fixed laws govern God, one of which is that man is a free agent, that Adam was not compelled to eat the forbidden fruit, and that as Adam voluntarily fell, so did the descendants of Ham fall from the true worship and adopt the false worship. In like manner, all men are capable of choosing between good and evil.

"David knew that God designed to build a house to be dedicated to the true God, which for a time should serve as a resting place for the Ark of the Covenant and for the indwelling of the great Shekinah, and he asked permission to build that house."

Freemasonry, a fraternal organization with roots dating back centuries, has intrigued scholars, historians, and individuals curious about secret societies. The 1869 1st edition book represents an early attempt to document and explore the tenets, rituals, and philosophy of Freemasonry. It serves as a valuable resource for researchers, collectors, and enthusiasts interested in understanding the evolution and practices of this influential organization.

The overall condition of this book is good based on the fact that it was printed over 150 years ago. It does have some of the typical aging attributes associated with a book from the 19th-century Victorian Era. This includes some shelf wear to the covers, most notably the spine with a crease. However, they are lovely and display wonderfully. It has a tight binding, all pages are intact, and the paper quality is exceptional for a book from 1869. Other than the creased spine, it has been exceptionally well-kept.
