New York: Harmony Books, (1982). 558pp. 8vo. Publisher's quarter cloth and boards; dust jacket. Minor staining at tail of rear hinge faintly affecting gutters of eight pages; text block edges have light foxing; a very good copy.
First edition and inscribed and signed by Shaffer "For Victor and Graham with all love from Peter. St. Valentine's Day 1988. X." From the library of Victor Spinetti (1929-2012) Welsh comedy actor, poet and author. Over his five decade career, Spinetti is remembered for appearing in three Beatles films, A Hard Day's Night, Help! and Magical Mystery Tour. Plays included: "Five Finger Exercise" - "The Private Ear" - "The Public Eye" - "White Liars" - "Black Comedy" - "Shrivings" - "The Royal Hunt of the Sun" - "Equues" - "Amadeus".
