Description: This was originally published October 2, 1942. This is a special limited edition, number 64 of 1000 copies; signed by both the author and Ward Ritchie, the designer / printer. Printed on Saturn Laid paper in Caledonia and Bodoni types. Edwin Corle was equally at home writing about the west in both fiction and nonfiction forms (Fig Tree John; The Gila: River of the Southwest; The Royal Highway (El Camino Real)). From Paher's Nevada, number 381: ''A prospector strikes it rich as a young man and then stays on through the long years in the desert town his strike had created. The bonanza-borrasca saga is very similar to the history of Rhyolite, the obvious setting of the book.''
