On Feb 11 2021, a reader said:
Close To Home is the fifth book in the Tracy Crosswhite series by best-selling award-winning American author, Robert Dugoni. While one of her team, Del Castigliano, pursues the dealer who supplied the heroin that killed his niece, Tracy Crosswhite tracks down the driver of a hit and run. It was the black Subaru of a Naval Petty Officer that killed twelve-year-old D'Andre Miller, but the owner claims his vehicle was stolen.

When Seattle PD's CSI team gain access to the vehicle, it has been wiped clean. Just one tiny scrap, though, implicates the owner. After the Navy takes over jurisdiction, and before the officer can be tried, a critically important piece of evidence inexplicably goes missing, and some want to lay blame on the Navy-appointed defense counsel.

This instalment proceeds at a slower pace as the plot works through jurisdictional issues and the intricacies of security videos. Perhaps we can attribute Tracy's failure to pick up on certain details to her distraction with fertility issues and her sleep deprivation due to late-night shifts: luckily her husband is paying attention when it matters most.

Once again there are some diversions and red herrings as the body count increases in the lead-up to the dramatic climax. By this fifth book, fans of the series will be familiar with the regular characters' lives, so weight loss and romance for Del will compete with a certain piece of news that might radically change Tracy's and Daniel's lives. Bring on #6, A Steep Price. Addictive crime fiction.

About Wonder Book

With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children\'s paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost \"in the stacks\" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as \"1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores\", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan.
