About This Item

L. B. Prince Co., Inc, Springfield, VA, No date. Edition Unstated. Softcover (Saddle-stapled). Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Photographic & illustrations. Recommended reading. The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white illustrations and historical black-and-white photographs. Colour illustrated paperback binding, the front showing a young union soldier, and the rear showing an older soldier, probably from the south. Red and black coloured titles to the front panel. The American Civil War commenced as a political Cold War in the 1830s and move to inevitable conflict between 1850 and 1860, when war did break out, in 1861 " ... beliefs and political ideals had become so firm that they transcended family ties and bonds of friendship – brother was cast against brother." – from page 2. It was the greatest life of American soldiers of any conflict. This small booklet is more about the soldiers themselves, their living conditions, armaments, medical treatment and reportage of the war etc., rather than about the battles themselves. Minor creasing of the top book corners with a little rubbing of the book edges and panels. Remnants of sticker can be seen to the lower left hand corner of the rear panel. The book has a copyright of 1961, but has a 10 digit ISBN, so my best guess is that this is a book printed in the 70s or 80s (or perhaps even later). Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [1], 2 - 72 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic & illustrations. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Military & Warfare; United States; 19th century; History. ISBN: 1879295008. ISBN/EAN: 9781879295001. Inventory No: 0287521. . 9781879295001
