Rare official proceedings of these important hearings on the Civil Rights Act of 1960. Includes statements of Hon. William P. Rogers, U.S. Attorney General, as well as Deputy Attorney General Lawrence Walsh and Macon, Georgia, attorney Charles Bloch. Also features a copy of the bill (H.R. 8601), along with the text of two letters to James Eastland, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary, of March 1960. One was from Gordon Tiffany, staff director of the Commission on Civil Rights, the other from Arthur Flemming, Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare.
Pp. v, 178. Stapled quires. 9.5" x 5.75". A few small stains to cover, just a tad of light creasing and edge wear, lightly toned. Very good plus. # 62471.
