Clean and bright; no owners' marks or bookplate; two brief scratches in the gilding at the head edge, a small and light tap at the spine heel, and spots of rubbing at the free corners of the cover, otherwise excellent. 555pp. Full black leather with hubbed spine, gilt titles and decoration, bound-in ribbon marker, decorative endpapers, all page edges gilded, "Notes from History" laid in.
