Paris: Librairie de L. Hachette, 1861. Very nice copy of this first edition. Contemporary half leather binding with gilt decoration and five raised bands. Blue marbled boards, with just a little rubbing to these. Owner's bookplate to the inside front board. Original pale green wrappers bound in (these a little marked and dirty but still presentable). With 450 vignettes by G. Doré, Foster, etc. in black and white, in and out of text. Beautiful copy Copy with rich iconography. 634 pages. 240 by 160mm (9½ by 6¼ inches). . Très bel exemplaire de cette première édition. Reliure contemporaine en demi-cuir avec décorations dorées et cinq bandes en relief. Plateaux marbrés bleus, légèrement frottés. L'ex-libris du propriétaire se trouve à l'intérieur de la première planche. Les enveloppes vert pâle d'origine sont reliées (elles sont un peu marquées et sales mais restent présentables). Avec 450 vignettes de G. Doré, Foster, etc. en noir et blanc, dans et hors texte. Bel exemplaire. Exemplaire à l'iconographie riche. 634 pages. 240 x 160 mm
