A first edition copy of this novel by the French author Pierre Benoit, concerning the 1916 Easter insurrection. The first edition of this work, printed on alfa paper, in a half calf binding, with decorative gilt to the spine. Top edge gilt. Pierre Benoit (1886-1962) was a French writer, whose adventure novels were very popular in the early 1900s. This novel concerns the 1916 Easter Rising, a landmark in Irish history. In a half calf binding. Externally smart, with minor rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and light shelf wear to the extremities. Front hinge is slightly strained but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but clean. Very Good Indeed
