First edition of Celibates by George Moore in the original publisher's cloth binding. A collection of three short stories including Mildred Lawson, John Norton, and Agnes Lahens. George Moore was an Irish novelist, short story writer and poet. Prior owner's ink inscription from 1895 to the half title. With ten pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is a small mark to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
