About This Item

Rio de Janeiro: Officinas de Artes Graphicas da Bibliotheca Nacional, 1905. Hardcover. Small 4to. Burgundy cloth with paper spine label; original stiff front wrapper bound in. 96pp. Illustrations. Very good. Tight and internally near fine, with slight rubbing to binding (mainly along spine). Tight and quite nice first edition of this Brazilian bibliography, entirely in Portuguese, whose title translates "Catalog of the Cervantina collection with which the National Bibliotheca of Rio de Janeiro competed for the Exhibition commemorating the 300th centenary of Don Quixote held by the Portuguese Reading Cabinet on June 12, 1905." Front pastedown bears small, light "Duplicate" inkstamp of The Hispanic Society of America. Scarce and unusual -- a must-have for the thorough Quixote collector.
