Philadelphia: Porter & Coates, 1880. A novel of the famine by the Anglo-Irish writer Anna Maria Keary (1825-1879), an an uncommon title. A Very Good copy; green decorative cloth binding, with black an gilt blindstamping; an English coat-of-arms on the front cover. No publication date is given, but the Tauchnitz copyright edition was in 1875, and there is a gift inscription from 1885 on the second free endpaper. Quercus therefore keeps to the middle and assigns a date of 1880. Clean text; 576 pages, very bright and supple. The corners are bumped; rubbing to the head and foot of the spine. A serviceable copy of this scarce book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First American Edition.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket.
