About This Item

Garden City: Doubleday, 1945. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First edition. Small embossed owner name else fine in fine dustwrapper with some slight wear to the spinal extremities. Stormy Knight, gunfighter, takes over the town newspaper and fights the Harper gang with both press and six-shooter. Yee-haw.

Reviews

On Apr 3 2020, a reader said:
When Stormy Knight rode into Carnival on the morning James Sanford, newspaper editor, was found dead in his printing office, he rode straight into a nest of trouble. His first impression was: it was not a suicide, and he had plenty of suspects to choose from including cattle rancher and town mayor, Rufe Harper; and Harper's gang of mean eyed, fast shooting henchmen. When Kate Sanford, the newspaper editor's daughter asks Stormy to take over the paper, he found himself agreeing to do so, and the fiery editorials and news items he wrote on the subjects of violence and murder only brought more trouble. William Colt MacDonald is always good, but he's at the top of his game with this western--a real rip-snorter!
