About This Item
London: W. H. Allen, 1978 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A neat first edition of this novel by Martin Booth, in the original, unclipped, dust wrapper. This is a first edition of the work in the original publisher's cloth binding, with the original dust wrapper, which is unclipped. Martin Booth is British author known for his poetry and children's fiction. This work of fiction is Martin Booth's first committed novel. In this novel, Booth tells the story of Steen, an employee of a London firm of international road haulers. Steen unknowingly brings a deadly disease into the country via a cargo of fruit, after a work trip to Barcelona. From then on, he becomes The Carrier. This novel follows what happens to Steen after this realisation. With an eye-catching dust wrapper designed by British comic book artist and illustrator, John Bolton. Demonstrated in this design, Bolton is known for his dense, painted style, verging on photorealism. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with the original dust wrapper, which is unclipped. Externally, excellent, with light rubbing to the boards, mainly to the front. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper in excellent condition, with minor edge wear and the odd handling mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
