New York: Farrar & Rinehart, Inc.,, 1933. First edition, first impression, of this collection of testimonies to Pound's writing. This pamphlet is scarce: LibraryHub records only two copies in British and Irish institutional libraries (Cambridge, Durham). This slim and ephemeral publication, "for gratis distribution" (Gallup), was issued in connection with the first American edition of A Draft of XXX Cantos (Farrar & Rinehart, 1933). Ford Madox Ford was the guiding light behind this little pamphlet: "Ford wrote to John Farrar of Farrar & Rinehart... that he wanted to assemble a tribute to Pound from several writers. Farrar agreed, and soon Ford was receiving testimonials from many of Pound's old friends" (J. J. Wilhelm, Ezra Pound: The Tragic Years 1925-1972, 1994, p.64). The other contributors are Edmund Wilson, William Carlos Williams, Allen Tate, Elizabeth Madox Roberts, Francesco Monotti, Paul Morand, H.D., John Peale Bishop, and Basil Bunting. Octavo. Original white wrappers printed in black. Wrappers rubbed, particularly along the spine, lightly toned and spotted. A very good copy.
