Very first book in the Campfire Girls series by Stewart (other titles were written by other authors previously & afterwards), first published in 1914. The plot involves 2 girls from dysfunctional families (one accused of setting the family farm on fire, the other whose father has been accused of counterfeiting), run away & are given protection by a group of campfire girls, who proceed to save the pair from a kidnapping plot. In 246 pages with plain frontispiece. Hardcover book has bright red cloth-covered boards with. Condition is VG, marred only by a cracked front hinge. Else, exceptionally clean, text block secure. Pages are heavily tanned & becoming a bit brittle, commensurate with age & paper quality, but unmarked.The unclipped DJ is Good+, with clear tape on a few edges & minor wrinkling/edgewear.
