Sydney: A Susan Haynes book/ Allen & Unwin Australia, 1990. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Sydney, A Susan Haynes book/ Allen & Unwin Australia, 1990. Octavo, x, 898 pages plus 45 plates. Papered boards; rear cover slightly marked; an excellent copy with the lightly creased dustwrapper. Dated (18 July 1990), signed and warmly inscribed by the author in ink on the half-title. Loosely inserted is the invitation to the book launch (on the same day). + Bill Guy: 'A Life on the Left. A Biography of Clyde Cameron' (Kent Town, Wakefield Press, 1999); colour-pictorial card covers; a fine copy. 'I wanted to be able to remind myself of happenings and comments in a way that could not be challenged. What I recorded had to be objective and completely accurate. To this end I took notes at the time and often excused myself to write down important conversations exactly as they were spoken. To have diarised in any other way would have been a pointless exercise in self-deception' (from Cameron's introduction). [3 items].
