Author was a Captain, R.M.R.E., with a group headed first in 1909 to a played-out silver mining camp town in Slocan, exploring in winter with pack mules, then over two years, near Whitewater Depot, camping as they moved on in the British Columbia Province in western Canada. Experiences included forestry, meeting with native nations peoples (Quatsino), and traveling also by boats they fashioned, and paddlewheel, by road, trail, stage, and by train. An account of travel and work by engineer Christian Galloway, a five year resident of B.C. before WWI. Travels on Vancouver Island, Prince Rupert, Queen Charlotte Islands, Peace River District, the Cariboo and Vancouver.
