London, 1865. Twelve issues, with three plates and numerous in-text illustrations. Modern calf, gilt spine label. Spine extremities slightly worn, spine label chipped. Light foxing and tanning. Nearly very good. "Tallack travelled from San Francisco to San Diego, and then by stage through the Southwest to the western terminus of the railroad at Syracuse, Missouri, nearly one hundred miles west of Saint Louis" - Wagner- Camp. Printed in a periodical containing several travel accounts, including a narrative to the gold fields in British Columbia, called "To Cariboo and Back," and a description of Native American life in Oregon. Tallack's narrative is contained in four of the twelve issues bound in this volume. WAGNER-CAMP 425.
