Evans; 1781 (1st ed. 1764); William Williams of Pantycelyn (1717 - 11 Jan 1791) was an itinerant evangelist, poet and apologist for the great (Methodist) awakening in Wales. He is today considered to be one of Wales greatest writers, and is generally acknowledged as Wales most important hymn writer.
