In 1906 the 25th Infantry Regiment, known as Buffalo Soldiers, were stationed at Fort Brown, Brownsville, Texas. After a shooting was blamed on members of the regiment, President Theodore Roosevelt ordered 167 soliders to be discharged without honor, which cost them their pensions and made them unable to work in the federal civil service. After the publication of this history of the events, a military investigation exonerated and pardoned the Black troops. In Near Fine- Condition: edges rubbed; lower corner of front cover creased; clean and tight.
