London: Wayland Publishers. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1974. First Edition. Hardcover. Blue boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket. The dustjacket is price-clipped, has some creases to the top alongside the spine, and the base colour to the spine has faded to a pretty turquoise but all lettering is very clear and bright. The page edges are tanned and foxed along the top edge. The covers have a couple of tiny marks, old thin lines of sellotape glue only, (which may be able to be removed? ). Otherwise No Inscriptions or other Marks. 128pp. Illustrated in b/w and colour. Appendix; Time Chart; List of Reading; Acknowledgements; Index. Overall, apart from the foxing, etc, as detailed above, this is a Very Clean, Tight and Bright, Near 'VG' copy. " Richard Garrett traces the story of the amazing breed of man known as the sailor, from the sixteenth century to the present day." ; 4to 11" - 13" .
