Jacket has been placed in protective mylar. Fascinating history of the courses, famous horses and the people associated with them. The spine also has raised bands which have some wear. Overall still a very good copy in an attractive leather binding decorated in gilt with horseheads and horeshoes at the corners, front and back, and gilt-tooling on the edges and turn-ins. Marbled endpapers. All page-edges gilt. Binding unsigned. 11 color plates of paintings of well known British racecourses and black & white drawings, all by Lionel Edwards, R.I.
